Spring Is Right Around The Corner…

Honestly, how is it March already?

My  mind is blown. It feels like yesterday I was counting down from 10 to ring in the new year… and now Q1 is almost over. Mind boggling. Anyhow, a new month means time to take a look at last month and set some March goals.

February Recap

February was a really weird month for me. Everyone knows February is supposed to be the month of love and happiness, well it was kind of the opposite for me. February was full of stress and life changes. Not going to get into detail, but i’ve got a lot of changes coming up In the month of March. I’ll be writing a blog post about how to deal with change, especially change you didn’t ask for. Because of this change, I had to re-evaluate my goals for February and figure out my priorities.

February Overview

So, I was only able to cross off a few goals this past month. Overall, I am proud of myself because I achieved my biggest goal which was to pay off my car (yay no car payment!). I also was able to create a vision board and stick to my budget in February. Unfortunately, due to changes that came about I decided it would be better to wait to upgrade to an Ipad Pro and buy the design skills course. I plan on moving those goals to the month of May, around my birthday.

Let’s all just take a moment to giggle at how horribly I failed at maintaining my February habits! I found it so hard to keep up with because 1. lack of motivation and 2. I was not tracking my progress with each habit. Tracking your progress is essential for success with any goal or habit. One way I plan on doing this in March is to create a habit tracker spread in my bullet journal. Then, I can grab my journal nightly and cross off what habits I achieved that day.

Working Out

Getting my butt to the gym, or just running, has been so hard in the month of February. I’ve been unmotivated mentally and physically. A lot has been going on and when i’m stressed out I can’t seem to accomplish anything. HOWEVER, I did sign up for the Indy Mini on May 5th (super excited) and will begin training next week. I am debating on hiring a training coach for the half marathon so I can achieve my goal time for the race. Still deciding.

I went hard on the yoga for the last week of January/first couple of weeks of February. I was attending yoga classes at the studio by my house about 3-4 times a week. When my membership ended, I found it hard to continue to practice yoga/mediation. Yoga/meditating is something I really want to focus on in the month of March, particularly because of all the changes happening so I can remain grounded.

Let me preface this by mentioning that I am the type of person who gets excited over books. I will begin reading one, then see one that peaks my interest and start reading that book too. It’s hard for me to stay focused and finish a book. With that being said, I did not finish any of the 3 books I wanted to. I actually ended up buying 3 more books in the month of February (lol). I am half way finished with all 3 books, so in the next couple of weeks I plan on finishing them all.

 March Goals

  1. Move back home & settle into a new job
  2. Decide on an Instagram aesthetic
  3. Hire a running coach for the Indy mini

March Habits

  1. Take Winston for a run every day
  2. Drink 90 oz of water daily
  3. Write morning pages daily

Time to get down to business…
